The "Exodus to Greatness" monument is located near the Lower Stone House Landing on the east side of the bend in the road. It is dedicated to the memory of the Saints who fled persecution and settled in the Rocky Mountains of the West.
Upon the walls of the Pioneer Memorial are the names of over 2,000 Latter-day Saints who died along the Mormon Trail.
Elder Mark E. Petersen gave the dedicatory prayer on Aug. 17, 1978. Renovations were done to the site in 1997 and rededicated as a Pioneer Memorial by Gordon B. Hinckley on April 18, 1997.
