The Aukland, New Zealand Temple is the second temple in New Zealand and the Elder Patrick Kearon of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will dedicate the Auckland New Zealand Temple on Sunday, April 13, 2025. The Church was first established on the island nation in the 1850s and has more than 114,000 members today. The Aukland New Zealand Temple has amazing stories and miracles to share. The Stained Glass windows in the New Zealand temple were done by "Timeless Art Glass" in Springville, Utah. One of the owners of the business, Brent Best, took some time to share a miracles he witnessed, while installing the giant windows of the Aukland, New Zealand Temple Celestial Room.
While working on a tight schedule, working to get the windows prepared for installation, Brent was called and informed he needed to be at the New Zealand temple earlier than expected. Brent was a bit confused as to why he was needed earlier, but did what he was told and made it out to the New Zealand temple construction site as he was requested.
Immediately after arriving to New Zealand, Brent began working on installing the beautiful stained glass windows of the new Temple. The Celestial Room windows were huge, and would be a difficult task to get into place. Brent knew the Celestial Room windows were the priority and started working on those right away. While analyzing exactly how to get these great big windows into place, Brent realized there was not enough space to get the windows up in the location they where the windows needed to be.
Brent began to worry that it was not possible to get the Celestial Room windows in the right location, and did not know what to do. Brent sat at the top of the huge empty window holes, looking down pondering every possibility to get the huge windows into place.
At this point, while Bren was on top of the empty window holes Brent said a pleading prayer to his Heavenly Father asking God for help on how they were suppose to get these great big windows into the right spot.
After his prayer for help, Brent knew exactly how to get those windows into this tight fit. While on top of the temple, Brent noticed a tiny gap between the stone on the outside of the temple and the exterior wall, big enough to get the windows from the bottom of the temple to the Celestial Room just perfectly.
This small gap was exactly the right size needed for these windows to be put into place. This small gap was the answer to Brents sincere prayer. This small gap was the perfect size, just wide enough, to solve the problem and get these great big windows up to the spot at the top of the temple! Brent knew that this inspiration came from his Heavenly Father, and he felt guided on the solution on how to get the windows to their location. It all worked out perfectly, because of the help from God.
Brent went back a couple weeks later, when he was originally scheduled to go to the Aukland, New Zealand temple and was surprised to see small gap between the stone and the outside wall had been filled.
Originally, Brent had been confused as to why he was called to go out to New Zealand earlier than planned, now it all made sense. If Brent would not have been called to come to New Zealand earlier the small space to bring the stained glass windows would not have been there and he would not have been able to get the windows where they needed to go. Brent could see that being called out to the temple earlier had come from God. God knew the struggles the window installers would face getting those windows into place and a plan was prepared to help these temple builders make it all possible. It is just a miracle!
President Thomas S. Monson once said to Joseph F. Wirthlin: “There is a guiding hand above all things. Often when things happen, it’s not by accident. One day, when we look back at the seeming coincidences of our lives, we will realize that perhaps they weren’t so coincidental after all.”
